REGULAR MEETING

VILLAGE BOARD OF THE VILLAGE OF LAKE VILLA

JUNE 24, 2009

 

CALL TO ORDER:                   The Regular Meeting of the Village Board of the Village of Lake Villa was called to order at 8:00 p.m. on June 24, 2009 at the Lake Villa Village Hall.

 

SALUTE THE FLAG:                The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Loffredo.

 

ROLL CALL:                             Roll call indicated the following present: Mayor Loffredo; Deputy Clerk Jelinek; Attorney Bateman; Trustees Battistone, Harms, Jelinek, and McDonald. Trustees Dykstra and Trkla were absent. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order.

 

MAYOR:

Class “F” Liquor License          It was moved by Tr. McDonald and seconded by Tr. Battistone to approve the dates requested by the Lake Villa Volunteer Fire Dept. for a Class “F” Liquor License-August 6 through August 10, 2009 and waive the fee.

ROLL CALL VOTE WAS:         AYES: 4 MOTION CARRIED

 

Executive Session:                     It was moved by Tr. Harms and seconded by Tr. McDonald to go into executive session for the purposed of Probable or Imminent Litigation.

                                                      ROLL CALL VOTE WAS:         AYES:    4              MOTION CARRIED

 

FINANCE:                                   It was moved by Tr. Harms and seconded by Tr. Jelinek to schedule an Appropriation Hearing for July 22 at 8:00 pm.

ROLL CALL VOTE WAS:         AYES: 4                MOTION CARRIED

 

 

ROADS & STREETS:              It was moved by Tr. Jelinek and seconded by Tr. Harms to authorize the Director of Public Works to purchase the Asphalt Saw with Water Kit from Burris Equipment of Waukegan, IL at a cost not to exceed $1,764.00.

ROLL CALL VOTE WAS:         AYES: 4                MOTION CARRIED

 

PLANNING &

PUBLIC PROPERTY:              It was moved by Tr. McDonald and seconded by Tr. Jelinek to authorize the Director of Public Works to advertise for bids for the construction of The Pavilion, Phase II at Mansion Park.

ROLL CALL VOTE WAS:         AYES: 4                MOTION CARRIED

 

 

PUBLIC SAFETY:                     It was moved by Tr. McDonald and seconded by Tr. Jelinek to authorize Chief Roth to hire part time officer subject to results of psychological and physical testing.

ROLL CALL VOTE WAS:         AYES: 4                MOTION CARRIED

 

 

ORDINANCE & LICENSES:

2009-06-01                                   It was moved by Tr. Harms and seconded by Tr. Battistone to adopt ordinance 2009-06-01 “Service Rates Established: Provisions”.

ROLL CALL VOTE WAS:         AYES: 4                MOTION CARRIED

 

BUILDING AND ZONING:

It was moved by Tr. Battistone and seconded by Tr. Jelinek to deny Powder Coating due to it is not permitted in the use table of the zoning book.

ROLL CALL VOTE WAS:         AYES: 4 MOTION CARRIED

RECONVENE:                           It was moved by Tr. Harms and seconded by Tr. Battistone to reconvene the regular meeting of the village board.

                                                      ROLL CALL VOTE WAS:         AYES:    4              MOTION CARRIED                          

ADJOURNMENT:                     It was moved by Tr. Battistone and seconded by Tr. Harms to adjourn the regular 

meeting of the Village Board at 8:20 pm.
