Lake Michigan Water Project
Demand for water has resulted in over pumping of the aquifer in northern and western Lake County, and across the region. The Village of Lake Villa and other Lake County communities are working together on a long-term solution for our future water supply.
Eight communities and Lake County have banded together to study the feasibility of obtaining Lake Michigan water and the studies show that Lake Michigan water is a cost-effective, long-term solution. The group is in the process of applying for a Lake Michigan water allocation from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
