LRS, the Village of Lake Villa's waste and recycling contractor, will collect Christmas trees and wreaths at the curb at no additional cost on Saturday, January 3, 2026 and Friday, January 9, 2026.
To ensure items can be composted and recycled, trees and wreaths must be placed at the curb free of all decorations and inorganic materials. Items containing tinsel, ornaments, metal backing, or other non-organic materials cannot be recycled.
Additionally, please ensure the following:
The tree must be real, not artificial, not in any plastic bags and free of tinsel, lights, ornaments and not frozen to the ground.
Trees must be under 6ft in length (or cut into 2 pieces each under 6ft each if the tree is larger than 6ft tall)
Trees must be placed curbside
Flocked trees, trees with shiners, tinsel, lightbulbs, or plastic will not be included in this pick up.
