Leaves

Effective May 1, 2018 - Waste Management will perform six-week leaf vacuuming services in the fall.  An unlimited amount of leaves may be placed at your curb during the collection period.  While the leaf vacuuming program will typically begin the middle of October, the schedule may vary based on the weather conditions.  For more information about leaf vacuuming, please call Waste Management at 800-796-9696 or visit their website at www.wm.com.

Branches

Effective May 1, 2018 - Waste Management will be collecting branches weekly (except in the winter).  Branches must be bundled, no longer than four feet, with branches no thicker than four inches and cannot weigh more than fifty pounds.  An unlimited amount of bundles may be placed at your curb for collection.  Waste Management will begin collecting branches fur the first week of May and the collection should be on the same day as your refuse/recycling collection day.  For more information about branch collection, please call Waste Management at 800-796-9696 or visit their website at www.wm.com

Grass Clippings and Other Waste

Waste Management will pick up grass clippings and other yard waste (such as leaves) on your normal garbage day (generally April 1st - November 30th). Clippings and yard waste must be in a paper yard waste bag with a Waste Management sticker on them. Bags and stickers can be purchased at the customer counter at Jewel, located at 900 E. Rollins Road in Round Lake Beach.  Stickers can also be purchased at the Village Hall. Stickers are currently are $2.48 each.

Waste Management also offers a seasonal lawn waste service which allows up to four cans or bags each week.  Call Waste Management at 847-395-2020 to subscribe.  Effective November 1, 2022, the annual subscription is $78.78.

Christmas Tree Pickup

The following guidelines must be followed in order for the tree to be collected:

  • Please remove all ornaments, lights, tinsel, etc. and place the tree at the curbside. If you need to use a bag while transporting the tree out of your home, please remove the bag before leaving the tree at the curbside.
  • Trees must be clean (no tinsel, no lights, ornaments etc.)
  • Trees must be manageable for one driver.

Alternatively, trees may also be donated to the Lake County Forest Preserve (LCFP). Donated trees are chipped and used for trails and landscaping at forest preserves throughout Lake County.
