Project Description

The objective of this project is to reconstruct the dry land bridge located on IL Route 132 (Grand Avenue) east of Cedar Lake Road in Lake Villa. The project will consist of roadway widening, resurfacing and other ADA improvements. The Project is being managed by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).

Latest Construction Update

Updated May 24, 2023

• Contractor is working on storm sewer structures that will be located in the temporary drive lane.
• Once that work is completed, and over the next couple weeks the Contractor will be installing new storm sewer pipes. 
• IDOT indicates that the road closure is being delayed to June to accommodate adjustments the Contractor is requesting for the temporary drive lane.

Timeline:  Spring 2023 – Fall 2024

Funding Amount/Source:  $8,715,213 and is being funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT)

Construction Hours:  Contractors are working from 7:30am – 3:30pm
